Beta-hgch - blood test during pregnancy and under-patology

CGC content can be determined more accurately with the help of immunological tests. The human chorionic gonadotropin molecule has a complex structure and consists of two subunits (alpha and beta). B-hgch has a unique structure. Using antibodies specific to it, a quantitative determination of beta-hgch levels in the patient's blood is carried out.

In clinical practice, this analysis is carried out during pregnancy (for screening for chromosomal diseases and diagnostics of trophoblast diseases). In oncology, B-HCG levels are used to diagnose testicular cancer in men and chorioncarcinoma in women.

Units of measure in analyzes — ng / ml.

Norm B-HCG in healthy men and women — up to 2 ng / ml.

Norma B-hgch during pregnancy:

  • 8th week — 23-162 ng / ml;
  • 11th week — 17-130 ng / ml;
  • 18th week — 4-33 ng / ml.

Increased value in men — Oncomarker hormonally active germ tumors.
Increased value in women outside pregnancy — Oncomarker of chorioncarcinoma (aggressive tumor originating from the Village of Chorion).

Elevated B-HCG levels during pregnancy — Sign of high risk of Down syndrome in the fetus. Significant growth of indicators also serves as a diagnostic criterion for bubble.

Reducing beta-hgch units during pregnancy may indicate the high risk of Edwards's syndrome in the fetus.

It should be remembered that the results of the analyzes are not a diagnosis and require consultations of the gynecologist, genetics or oncologist.
