    Acute conjunctivitis banalAcute conjunctivitis is a banal cause staphylococci or streptococci. Most often, this conjunctivitis disease begins with one eye, then it develops conjunctivitis and on the other hand.

    Causes of banal conjunctivitis - getting into the eyes of dust, specks, bathing in contaminated waters.

    Contribute to the development of inflammation of the conjunctiva hypothermia or hyperthermia, acute respiratory viral infections, exacerbation of chronic diseases.


    Patients worried about itching, burning sensation in the eyes, feelingsand, foreign body in the eye. In the morning it is impossible to open the eyes of purulent discharge, gluing eyelashes. The mucous membrane of the eyelids and the sclera becomes bright red color, swells and thickens. The conjunctival sac is found mucus and pus.


    Treatment banal conjunctivitis. Appointed by instillation into the conjunctival sac of antiseptic solutions. The first day of instillation is performed every hour. In subsequent 3-5 days - 6 times a day. apply:

    • sulfatsil sodium (sulfacetamide)
    • furatsillin
    • colloid silver
    • antibiotic solutions.
    • Sometimes debilitated patients in the absence oftreatment, complications may occur in the form of blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids) or marginal keratitis (corneal inflammation). But usually banal conjunctivitis are well treated. It is prohibited to impose a bandage on the eye, as it prevents the blinking movements of the eyes, due to which the conjunctiva is cleared of pus.
